Beirut: The war between Israel and Hezbollah has intensified. Responding to the Israeli attack, Hezbollah has launched a fierce counterattack. Lebanese militant group Hezbollah has fired rockets laced with heavy explosives into northern Israel in retaliation for Israeli air strikes. There is a possibility of huge loss to Israel due to this. Hezbollah said it used weapons against civilian targets for the first time on Thursday in retaliation for Israeli airstrikes the night before. According to him, 9 people were killed in Israeli air strikes, including several paramedics.
Local media said there were no Israeli casualties in the rocket attack. The Israeli army has not yet commented on the rocket attack. Since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza on October 7, there has been increasing concern that a large-scale war could start due to almost daily clashes on the border between Israel and Lebanon. On Wednesday, 16 Lebanese and one Israeli civilian were killed in air and rocket attacks. Rear Admiral Daniel Hegari, the Israeli military’s chief spokesman, said Israel had killed 30 Hezbollah militants last week and destroyed several Hezbollah targets.
America and UN became worried
The recent increase in violence during Israel-Hamas’ war with Hezbollah has alarmed the US and the UN. White House national security spokesman John Kirby told reporters, “Restoring peace on the border remains a high priority for President Joe Biden and the administration.” He said the US is closely monitoring the developments. “We do not support war in Lebanon,” he said.
Hezbollah said in a statement that several rockets were fired at the Israeli villages of Goren and Shlomi on Thursday evening. Lebanese state media said 10 paramedics were among those killed in Wednesday’s attack. The Israeli military said it had targeted Hezbollah and a Sunni Muslim group affiliated with it. The UN peacekeeping force in southern Lebanon said it was necessary to stop this violence immediately. (AP)
