Swadhin Jain. Balod. Three months ago in village Burhanpur, one of the two water tanks built by CREDA under the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme broke down completely on Monday. Water was given to the people from a single tank, due to which water did not reach many houses. According to the villagers, the tank was bad for a long time, water was seeping, but it was not taken care of by the repair department.
Under the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme, drinking water arrangement has been made by CREDA at a cost of Rs. 9 lakh 80 thousand in Burhanpur, dependent village of Gram Panchayat Sibdi. Under this, two water tanks with a capacity of 500 liters have been installed. One of the tanks broke today. Due to this the water filled in the tank got washed away. Apart from this, water was supplied from only one tank, due to which the water supply was affected. It is said that water is supplied to 70 to 75 houses under this scheme, but today the water was affected. Till the time the tank is not made, it is feared that the drinking water supply will remain affected.
Water supply started only during Diwali
According to the villagers, this scheme was started here in 2020-21. Under the scheme, it was started in the month of November after expansion of pipeline and construction of water tank. Raising questions about the quality, villagers say that the breakdown of the water tank within 3 months itself proves that the right material has not been used. Villagers told that water was leaking from the tank for some time, this information was also given to the public representatives but no one paid attention.
will be corrected
Regarding this matter, Rajesh Hirakne Deputy Engineer PHE Gundardehi said that information has been received about the breakdown of the tank in village Burhanpur. In this regard, information has been given to the CREDA department. Correction will be made by them.
