The weather pattern has changed once again in the capital Delhi. Hail fell in some parts of Delhi on Wednesday afternoon, while there was some respite from the heat due to rain in different areas. Residents of Rohini, Pitampura and Paschim Vihar reported hailstorm and rain accompanied by strong winds around 2 pm.
Earlier in the morning, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a yellow alert in Delhi for dust storm, thunderstorm or hailstorm accompanied by wind speed up to 50 km. Later this warning was changed to Orange category. Delhi’s base station Safdarjung Observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 28.8 degrees Celsius, four notches above the year’s normal temperature. The IMD had said that as a result of a Western Disturbance affecting Northwest India, cloudy sky has been predicted over the capital for the next three days.
