New Delhi. As predicted by the Meteorological Department, rain and snowfall is being seen in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. There are also reports of trees falling at many places in Himachal due to strong winds. It has rained in Uttarakhand also. All this is happening due to a fresh western disturbance. This western disturbance is active over Afghanistan and its effect is being seen in the western areas of India.
According to the Meteorological Department, there was rain with thunder and hail at many places in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and UP. There is news of hailstorm at some places in Bihar also. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning in the areas of West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha along the banks of Ganga. Storm like conditions can also be seen at many places in these states. The Meteorological Department also estimates that there may be rain and lightning in Sikkim, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura from today till April 5. There is also a possibility of snowfall in the higher reaches of Arunachal Pradesh.
This year, it remained cold in the plains till after February. The reason for this was that western disturbances kept coming one after the other. Due to these western disturbances there was heavy snowfall in the hilly areas. The snowfall still continues. Whereas, the month of April has arrived. If western disturbances do not come now, the temperature will rise continuously in the coming days. The Meteorological Department has already said that this year there will be extreme heat in the plains of India. In many southern states the temperature has already become high. People in these states are also facing humidity.
