New Delhi. The Trinamool Congress delegation met West Bengal Governor C.V. Met with. Anand Bose, on Monday, October 9. During the meeting, Governor Bose assured them to address their concerns regarding funds pending for the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) before the Central Government. Trinamool Congress general secretary Abhishek Banerjee announced, “West Bengal Governor C.V. Anand Bose has promised to respond to our questions within 24 hours. Following the advice of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and other senior leaders, we are withdrawing our protest.”
He said, “I am giving an ultimatum to the central government till October 31. If the problem is not resolved during this period then I will start protesting again from November 1.”
Governor’s statement after meeting TMC delegation
Regarding the meeting with the representatives of Trinamool Congress, Governor C.V. Anand Bose said, “Three representatives of TMC came to meet me. He requested to meet me and I welcomed him. He shared his concerns with me and expressed his wish that I take these complaints to the central government. I assured.” Told him that I would definitely bring it to the notice of the concerned authorities. As governor, this is my duty.”
Before this meeting, the Governor had allowed the TMC delegation to meet on Monday, October 9. The party supported Governor C.V. Welcomed. Anand Bose’s decision, victory for West Bengal. In its official statement, the Trinamool Congress said, “On the fourth day of our public protest on the streets of Kolkata, the Governor finally had to bow down. TMC MP Derek O’Brien demanded a meeting with our delegation regarding the pending funds. The party further said, “After tireless efforts from Bengal to Delhi, Governor C.V. Anand Bose finally agreed to meet the Abhishek Banerjee-led delegation on October 9 at 4 pm. No force can destroy our determination to fight for the rights of Bengal.”
