3 crore women have to be made Lakhpati Didi
The PM said, ‘When I used to hear about the digital divide in the world, I used to think that I will not allow such a digital divide to happen in my country. Digital public infrastructure is a huge need in itself. Today I want to provide digital facilities to my villages. I think women are a very big target group. She accepts new things very quickly, so what things can I convey to her according to her needs? I have taken a program – Namo Drone Didi. I have two goals behind this. I want to make 3 crore women in the villages of India as Lakhpati Didi, that too women from poor families. Second – Will women in villages do only this work – grazing cows and buffaloes? No. I want to give technology in their hands. Everyone should feel that they will change their village. I want to modernize agriculture. When I talk to Drone Didi, she says that earlier we did not know how to ride a bicycle, now we have become pilots and ride drones, so our way of thinking has changed.
What is Drone Didi Scheme?
Modi government had started the Drone Didi Scheme in the year 2023. Its objective is to empower women in the agriculture sector. In this scheme, women are given training to fly agricultural drones. Women are also given training in drone maintenance and data analysis. In the training, women are taught how they can protect their crops from pesticides. Besides, methods of sowing seeds and spraying fertilizers are also taught. In this way women are trained for different agricultural works.
