RCB won the WPL title for the first time
New Delhi. What the Royal Challengers Bangalore team could not do in the IPL, the Smriti Mandhana-led team did it in the Women’s Premier League. Under the captaincy of Mandhana, the RCB team was successful in winning the trophy for the first time, whereas under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, RCB reached the finals of IPL in 2016 but missed the title. RCB has been yearning for the title in IPL for 16 years, whereas in the Women’s Premier League, RCB captured the trophy in the second season itself. RCB achieved the honor of becoming champion by defeating Delhi Capitals by 8 wickets in the final of WPL.
RCB has tried 7 captains so far in IPL but no captain could give them the trophy. These captains include Virat Kohli, Rahul Dravid, Kevin Pietersen and Faf du Plessis. RCB could not win any title under the captaincy of these stalwarts. In the league stage of WPL, RCB won 4 matches and qualified for the playoffs by finishing fourth with 8 points. In the eliminator, he defeated Mumbai Indians and made it to the finals.

After winning the toss and coming to bat, Delhi Capitals team was all out for 113 runs in 18.3 overs. RCB won the trophy by scoring 115 runs for two wickets in 19.3 overs.
