As a child, she saw her father wearing khaki and since then she wanted to be like him. It was a dream come true for Aishwarya Singh and a proud moment for her father Assam DGP Gyanendra Pratap Singh when she passed out as an IPS officer from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Gyanendra Singh said “Words fail me. I got a salute from my daughter. It was an emotional moment to say the least. My heart swelled with pride and my eyes welled up on seeing the passing out parade.
The senior officer also shared his feelings in a Twitter post and said that he was moved to tears when his daughter saluted him. “As a father, who is also senior to him in service, out of both affection and respect he said long back that whenever we are together in uniform, he would salute me to seek my blessings,”
Aishwarya did her schooling from Guwahati High School and Mother International School in Delhi. She completed her Political Science Honors from Lady Shri Ram College and then cleared the UPSC exam. In his first attempt, he got Indian Revenue Service and in his second attempt secured 97th rank and got selected for IPS.
Aishwarya said, “It was the most special day. I gave my first salute as an IPS officer to my father who has been an inspiration to me in every way. I couldn’t be more happy and proud than this. it was real
