Mukhtar had earlier also contested the Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi in 2009, although in this election too he lost to Murli Manohar Joshi by a huge margin of 17,000 votes. Despite all this, Mukhtar became MLA from Mau Assembly 5 times.
When will voting take place in Ghosi seat for Lok Sabha elections 2024?
BJP and SubhaSP’s candidate from Ghosi Lok Sabha seat is Arvind Rajbhar, who is the son of Om Prakash Rajbhar. Whereas, Rajiv Rai is in the fray from SP. Let us tell you that in the 2014 general elections, Rajiv Rai had contested from SP. This time a close contest may be seen on this seat. Let us tell you that voting will be held on Ghosi seat in the seventh phase i.e. on June 1. At the same time, a notification will be issued to the candidates on May 7 for taking nominations, which can be done till May 14. At the same time, the date for withdrawal of names is fixed as May 17.
