New Delhi. After the arrest of CM Arvind Kejriwal along with Manish Sisodia and AAP leader Sanjay Singh in the case related to alleged corruption in liquor policy, ED’s investigation has now reached Goa. ED is now preparing to take action against the Goa unit of Aam Aadmi Party. According to the news of news agency PTI, ED has called Aam Aadmi Party’s Goa unit chief Amit Palekar and other party leaders for questioning in the money laundering case. He has been ordered to appear on March 28.
Sources said that AAP leaders have been asked to be present at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Panaji, Goa on Thursday. Amit Palekar was AAP’s chief ministerial candidate during the February 2022 Goa assembly elections. Recently he had said that ED has no evidence to prove that any illegal money was sent to Goa. He said that he and his party colleagues are ready to face any investigation.

Allegations of funding in Goa elections
While seeking the custody of CM Kejriwal in the case of Delhi Liquor Policy, the ED had told the court that the Delhi Liquor Policy was brought only to fund the Goa elections. The southern lobby was benefited under this policy. In return, this lobby had arranged Rs 45 crore for the Aam Aadmi Party in the Goa elections. ED’s custody of Arvind Kejriwal in this case is ending on March 28. A total of 2 cases are going on regarding the alleged scam in Delhi Liquor Policy. CBI is investigating the case under the Anti-Corruption Act. At the same time, ED is taking action under the provisions of Money Laundering Act to trace the money trail.
