Surya Grahan 2024: The first solar eclipse of this year will take place on 8 April 2024 at 09:12 PM and will end at 01:25 AM. With the end of the eclipse, its Sutak period will end. However, this eclipse will not be visible in India. Generally, Sutak period starts 12 hours before the solar eclipse and during this time, worship and auspicious work is prohibited. Pregnant women are also advised to take many precautions during Sutak period. However, since the Sutak period of the solar eclipse will not be valid in India, people do not need to take any precautions regarding it. However, if you wish, you can take the name of God during this time.
Shukar Kshetra Foundation President and Astrologer Dr. Gaurav Kumar Dixit According to the Sun, there is Sutak period during the solar eclipse, eating or sleeping is also prohibited during the Sutak period. It is also said in Skandapuran that eating anything during this period destroys all the good deeds of a person. During the solar eclipse many bacteria become active in the environment, hence after the eclipse period one should take food only after taking bath.
Whenever an eclipse is about to occur, add Kush to the food items. So that all the bacteria get collected in the kush itself. Keep in mind that after the solar eclipse ends, remove it and throw it away. All the food items that are already prepared will have to be kept with kush in them. If Kush is not available then use basil leaves instead.
After this the second eclipse will take place on 2nd October. The time of this eclipse will be from 09:13 PM at night till 03:17 AM the next day. This eclipse will be very long and its duration will be about 6 hours. However, the second solar eclipse of the year will also not be visible in India.
