New Delhi. Now only about three weeks are left for the start of Lok Sabha elections in the country. After elections being held in seven phases, counting of votes will take place on June 4. Election code of conduct is in force in the country. Meanwhile, on Thursday, the Election Commission (ECI) has taken a big step and removed Gurugram Joint Commissioner Rajesh Duggal from the post. He has been asked to leave work with immediate effect and report to the police headquarters in Chandigarh. Not only this, the Election Commission has also made it clear that IPS Rajesh Duggal should not be entrusted with any election related work.
It is natural that a question arises in the mind that what happened just before the Lok Sabha elections that a senior IPS officer is being removed from the post in this manner. Actually, this is being done because Sunita Duggal, wife of IPS Rajesh Duggal, is a BJP MP from Sirsa, Haryana. Keeping in mind that there should not be any bias during the elections, the Election Commission has taken this step as a precaution.

The order issued by Haryana Additional Chief Secretary (Home Department) TVSN said, “As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, he will not be assigned any election related work till the completion of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections in the state.”
