Stealth Omicron Variant: There is a continuous decline in new cases of corona virus across the world including India. Due to this, it was expected that soon the country would get freedom from corona infection. However, that hope seems to be waning. This is because of the development of a new sub-variant for the Omicron variant, which has been named the Stealth. Its cases are being found rapidly in China. Apart from this, Israel has also confirmed its receipt of two cases. Due to this new variant, the fear of the fourth wave of corona virus coming in the world has started haunting. Let us know how dangerous it is…
The stealth sub variant is dangerous because it is difficult to detect. This is quite different from the Omicron variant. It is made up of two sub-variants of Omicron. The World Health Organization says that this sub-variant is also as dangerous as Omicron. WHO said that there is a need to keep a close watch on this variant as it is less available in testing. Apart from this, regarding the decreasing cases across the world, the organization said that the testing has reduced and due to this also less cases are being seen.
One thing of relief regarding the stealth variant
However, a relief about the stealth variant is being said that it only affects the upper part of the respiratory system. This means that it does not reach the lungs and remains confined to the throat. Omicron had similar symptoms. Earlier, the Delta variant, which was responsible for the second wave in India, was directly attacking the lungs and due to that there was a lack of oxygen.
What are the symptoms of stealth variant of corona virus
Experts say that symptoms of dizziness, weakness and fatigue are seen in people infected with the stealth variant. These symptoms occur two to three days after being infected with the virus. Apart from this, fever, cough, sore throat, muscle pain, chills and rapid heartbeat are also its symptoms. Due to this variant in China, cases have increased rapidly. Corona cases have crossed 5,000 for the third time in Wuhan itself. Apart from this, Israel has also confirmed two cases.
What a matter of concern for India
A study by IIT Kanpur has claimed that the fourth wave of corona may start in India by June 22, which will peak by mid-August. In its study through the SUTRA model, IITs have claimed that this wave will last for 4 months. It has been said in the study that the more people come out and the crowd gathers, the more will be the risk of spreading it.
