New Delhi. Australia defeated New Zealand in the second Test to complete a clean sweep of the two-match Test series. Despite their consecutive wins, Australia could not overtake India in the World Test Championship points table. In the current season of the World Test Championship (2023–25), India has played 9 matches, won 6, lost 2 and drawn 1, with a win percentage of 68.51.

India is in the race for the final for the third consecutive time in the World Test Championship. The Indian team had previously played the finals against New Zealand in 2019–21 and Australia in 2021–23, but missed out on winning the championship title on both the occasions. Now, India are in a promising position to qualify for the finals for the third consecutive time. It remains to be seen whether Team India can make it to the final of the World Test Championship 2023-25 or not.
