New Delhi. The Women’s Premier League, also known as the Women’s IPL, is set to hold the auction for its second season today, December 9. The five-team tournament gained immense popularity in its inaugural season and is now heading into its second edition. In the first season, Mumbai Indians, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, dominated the league. A total of 165 women players will participate in this upcoming auction, which includes 104 Indian and 61 foreign players. Bidding will take place among the 30 slots available for the five teams. The players include 56 capped and 109 uncapped players, for whom the five franchises still have a total purse of Rs 17.65 crore left.
