Mithali reached the first position for the ninth time in her career
Dubai, July 20 (IANS)| Indian women’s team captain Mithali Raj has returned to the top spot in the batsmen’s category in the latest ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings released. Mithali has reached the first position in the batsmen’s list for the ninth time in her career, while West Indies captain Stephanie Taylor has slipped to the fifth position.
Apart from the batsmen, Taylor has also slipped in the all-rounder rankings and has been replaced by Australia’s Ellyse Perry at the top. Diandra Dottin has jumped three places to 25th, Kishona Knight has jumped 11 places to 42nd and Brittany Cooper has jumped 22 places to 81st in the batting rankings. West Indies off-spinner Anissa Mohammad has improved three places to 23rd in the bowling list. West Indies’ Haley Mathews jumped two places to 32nd and Chinelle Henry jumped 11 places to be at 67th.
Pakistan’s Omaima Sohail has slipped to a career-best 36th spot, while Sidra Amin 62nd and Muniba Ali 68th in the batting rankings. India’s opener Smriti Mandhana secured a career-best third position in the T20 rankings. Apart from them, Deepti Sharma has improved one place to 36th and Richa Ghosh has jumped nine places to 72nd. England opener Daniel Hot has improved four places to 17th while Katherine Brunt has entered the top-10.
