India has got silver medal for the first time in the World Para Archery Championship held in Dubai. The pair of Shyam Sundar and Jyoti has given India this medal. In the final match, there was a great match between India and Russia. The Indian archers looked aggressive, but India had to be content with a silver medal in the final round.
In the first and second rounds, the Indian archers took a two-point lead each, but in the third round, the Russian players performed brilliantly and tied India. In the fourth and final round, Russia took a decisive two-point lead and captured the gold medal. On the other hand, Indian archers had to be content with the silver medal.
Was also given medal in Asian Championship
The pair of Shyam Sundar and Jyoti has managed to get India a silver medal for the first time in the World Championships. Earlier too, the same doubles pair had won India a silver medal in the Asian Championships. India got its first medal in the World Para Championships. Due to the excellent performance of Jyoti and Shyam Sundar, India won the silver medal with 148-150 points in Dubai. Team coach Anil Joshi said that the women’s doubles recurve team will play Mongolia on the 27th for the bronze medal.
