In the late 1960s-70s, the war between Vietnam and the United States on one side continued. On the other hand, in America, people were being harmed by drugs named Blue Magic and Harlem. The American police was surprised that in this situation two problems were together. When the investigation was done, it was found that these drugs were brought through the dead bodies of soldiers martyred in the war. When the police did a little more investigation, the name of American drug dealer Frank Lucas came to the fore.
Now let’s take you back a little bit in the life of Frank Lucas. Born in North Carolina, USA, life was not easy for Frank. Childhood passed in poverty and the neighbors living nearby were also well-known crooks of the world of crime. When he grew up a little, he got a job in a shop and kept committing petty thefts. Then stole $400 from the same shop in which he worked. Fearing being caught, he fled to New York in 1946 and then learned to drive.
Frank Lukes got his first job as a driver at a gangster-drug dealer named Johnson. He taught Frank all the tricks, but in 1968, Johnson was killed in a gang war. Then Frank installed himself in Johnson’s place. Initially he started a drug business in the streets but middlemen became a hindrance in his earning. Within a few days, Frank Lucas started killing those middlemen and was successful to a great extent.
Meanwhile, the police also started taking action on the increasing gang war and drug trade in the cities. In the late 1970s, there came a time when the supply of drugs in the cities of America broke down. That’s when Frank thought of bringing the best-selling drug Blue Magic from Thailand. For this, he trapped some corrupt officers and started supplying drugs through the dead bodies of soldiers martyred in the Vietnam-America war.
However, when the deaths due to overdose of this drug started in America, the police investigated and the name of Frank Lukes came to the fore. After this the police raided his house in New Jersey, where a lot of drugs and crores of rupees were found. In 1975, he was tried for murder and drugs in which he was sentenced to 70 years. After this, he demanded to be released in exchange for all the drug dealers in America to be caught.
The American police accepted this demand of Frank and within a few years destroyed all the drug gangs in America. Then as demanded, Frank was released after 7 years. However, Frank became unwell in the last years of his life and died on 1 June 2019.
