America’s most mysterious plane hijacker DB Cooper, who hijacked a flying plane and disappeared from the sky with a ransom. America’s intelligence agency has not been able to find out about this mysterious hijacker till date, who was it and where it disappeared. This incident dates back to the year 1971 when a man named DB Cooper hijacked a Boeing 727 aircraft.
DB Cooper reached the airport in the year 1971 in the form of a professional personality. He then took a flight ticket to Seattle at the counter, where he named himself Dan Cooper. DB Cooper had booked this ticket on a fake name. After getting the ticket, Cooper got on the plane and went straight to his seat. He was going to fly in a plane named Boeing 727.
As soon as the plane took off, DB Cooper wrote something on a slip of paper and gave it to the flight attendant. The flight attendant put the slip in his pocket without reading it and thought that there must be some lonely businessman giving his number. After a while Cooper asked if you read what I wrote! On this the attendant took out that slip and as soon as he read it, the expression on his face changed. It read that “I have a bomb.”
When Cooper opened his bag to show him the truth, there was actually a bomb in it. After this, Cooper, stating his demand and conditions, said that the plane should be landed at the nearest airport and refueled. Apart from this, asked for about two lakh dollars and four parachutes. All these conditions of Cooper were communicated to the pilot and the pilot reported the hijack and demand to Seattle ATC (Air Traffic Control).
The news of the plane hijack raised the ears of the FBI along with the US administration. Keeping in view the safety of the passengers, all the demands of Cooper were fulfilled. The FBI cleverly noted down the numbers of the notes so that it could be easily traced later. The plane took off again in the dark of night, and Cooper asked that it be headed to Mexico. Here the American Air Force was also chasing that plane.
The plane was still in the air that Cooper told all passengers to go to the pilot room. Also said, close that door from inside. Within a short time, the pilot felt that the air pressure in the plane was getting high. The co-pilot of the plane went and saw that the plane door was open and the hijacker Cooper was missing. The pilot understood that he had jumped down the door. When the plane landed at the airport, the investigation started but DB Cooper remained missing.
For many years, the American intelligence agency kept scouring the whole country but nothing was found about DB Cooper and the notes given to him. The FBI got his sketch made but till date it is not known who was actually DB Cooper who disappeared from the flying plane. The two US military planes chasing the plane also did not see any parachutes flying in the sky.
