Spain’s Saturnino de la Fuente García, the world’s oldest person, has died. He was 112 years and 341 days old and 24 days later his 113th birthday was about to come. Saturnino had entered the Guinness Book of World Records for being the oldest person in September, 2021. At that time his age was 112 years 211 days. Guinness World Records gave information about his death on Wednesday.

Let us tell you that Saturnino was also known as El Pepino. He was born on February 11, 1909, near Ponte Castro. He avoided being drafted to fight in the Spanish Civil War of 1936 and instead ran a successful shoe business. In 1933, Saturnino married Antonina Barrio Gutierrez. He also had seven daughters and a son, who passed away. There are 22 grandchildren in his family.
According to the Guinness website, the oldest person ever recorded was Jean-Louis Calment of France, who died in 1997 at the age of 122 years and 164 days, who was born in February 1875.
