The first match of WPL 2023 is to be played today between Beth Mooney’s Gujarat Giants and Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians Women. A few hours before the start of the match, BCCI has changed the timing of this match. Earlier this match was to start at 7.30 am according to Indian time and the toss of this match was to be held at 7.00 am. But according to the new timing, this match will be at 8 o’clock while the toss of this match will be at 7:30. The BCCI has not given information about why the timing is being changed. But it is being speculated that these changes have been brought because of the opening ceremony.
Let us tell you that five teams will be seen in this first edition of the Women’s Premier League. These five teams include Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and UP Warriors. The competition will be seen only between these five teams.
5 teams will show the power of their game in the Women’s Premier League. Under the round robin matches, each team here will have to play two matches each against the other four teams. After this, whichever team remains on top will directly enter the finals. At the same time, there will be an eliminator match between the second and third placed teams, the winner of which will play a match with the team that has already reached the finals.
