Danish Azad Ansari, who became a part of the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh, believes that the Muslim community likes Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Adityanath. At the same time, he said that Muslims like the work of Bharatiya Janata Party. The special thing is that Ansari has been included in the government in place of Mohsin Raza. Raza was also the only Muslim minister in the previous government.
According to media reports, Ansari said, ‘Yogi ji and Modi ji have given me the responsibility of minister. I have worked for the empowerment and welfare of youth and all other sections of the society. According to the Indian Express, the choice of Ansari’s name as a minister is also special because he comes from the Muslim community. This community is considered politically opposed to the BJP.
A BJP leader said, “Ansari is an OBC Muslim. By including him in the new ministry, BJP has tried to reach out to Muslim OBC voters. Here, Ansari says, ‘That opinion (of Sunni Muslims) has changed. Yogi Sarkar has effectively worked for all sections of the Muslim community. Schemes for ration, housing, Ayushman card have benefited all sections. Muslims have understood this and hence love BJP, Yogi and Modi.
He claimed that around 10 per cent of the Muslim population had voted for the BJP in the UP assembly elections. Ansari had campaigned among Muslims in eastern, central Uttar Pradesh and Bundelkhand region. Regarding the challenges in campaigning, he said, ‘Ordinary Muslims do not oppose me. Those who are associated with other parties or their mentality is Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party, they oppose me. Common Muslim likes BJP’s work.
