Apple launches new iPhone and iPad models in the market every year, which are in huge demand. Last year the company launched the iPhone 15 series. At the same time, iPhone 16 Series will be launched in the market this year. Apple fans eagerly wait for the company’s new products. However, Apple has taken a big decision for some of its old iPhones and iPads, due to which they may be disappointed.
Users disappointed with Apple’s decision
The American giant tech company has added one of its best-selling iPhones, iPhone 6 Plus and iPad Mini 4, to the vintage and obsolete list. This means that Apple will no longer provide any hardware support for these two phones. If a user has both these products, it will be difficult to get their parts if they get damaged.
Apple does not take any further responsibility for the products it adds to its Obsolete or Vintage list. From the company’s side, the life span of these products is considered to be over. If users’ devices accidentally get damaged, they will not be able to get them repaired at Apple’s official service center.
When was iPhone 6 Plus launched?
iPhone 6 Plus is included in the list of the company’s best-selling iPhones. This iPhone was launched by the company in September 2014. The company had stopped the production of this iPhone, which was launched 10 years ago, in 2016. At the same time, the software support for it was stopped in the year 2019. The company had added iPhone 6 to the obsolete list in 2022 itself.
Whereas, iPad Mini 4 was launched by Apple in the year 2015. It has been almost 9 years since this iPad was launched. However, the company has announced that it will be able to repair this tablet in the next two years i.e. till 2026. After this, this tablet will also not be able to be repaired from Apple’s official service center.
