The friendship between former India’s legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh and one of the best batsmen of the present times, Virat Kohli, is not hidden from anyone. Both have praised each other many times in public places. The same thing has happened once again. Yuvraj, the hero of the 2011 World Cup victory, has written an emotional letter to Kohli. In this he has written about Virat’s love and discipline towards the game.
Yuvraj has also sent a gift for Kohli. He wrote, “I have seen Virat’s career boom. You may be King Kohli to the world, but you are always my cheeky.” Yuvi has gifted Kohli the Golden Boot. He wrote that a golden boot from me for your contribution to cricket. After 1983, when the Indian team won the World Cup in 2011, Yuvraj became the man of the series. He contributed immensely with the bat as well as the ball. Virat Kohli was also a member of that team. Yuvraj was earlier a member of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup in 2007.
Further, Yuvraj wrote about Kohli – I have seen your career and personality emerging. A young boy who once used to walk shoulder to shoulder with the great players has now joined himself in the greats. Showing the way to new players on the field.
While praising Kohli, Yuvraj further wrote – Your discipline in the nets for practice is excellent. You enter the field with full enthusiasm. Your dedication towards the game has inspired millions of youngsters to grab the bat and join the Indian team.
Kohli will complete his 100th Test against Sri Lanka in Mohali. He had relinquished the Test captaincy after the series loss to South Africa last month. Earlier, he had given up the captaincy of T20 and was removed from the post of captain in ODIs. Kohli will not play in the T20 series against Sri Lanka. He and Rishabh Pant have been rested.
