Pickles and chutneys enhance the taste of food. Many people are fond of eating different types of pickles. If your mind also becomes happy after seeing the pickle, then you must try Gujarat’s special pickle with mustard seeds. This pickle gets ready very quickly. Apart from roti, mustard seeds pickle tastes very tasty with rice and lentils.
Ingredients for making Rye Pickle-
Chili 20-30
1 cup mustard seeds (lightly crushed)
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp asafoetida
1 tsp saunf (lightly crushed)
oil as required
salt to taste
1 tbsp lemon juice
Method of making mustard pickle-
First of all wash and dry all the chilies thoroughly. Take out the stalk and make an incision in all the chilies one by one and remove the seeds. Take care that the chillies should not be split in two. In a bowl add mustard seeds, salt, turmeric, asafoetida, fennel, a little oil and half a teaspoon lemon juice and mix together. Pour the prepared mixture into all the chilies. Put the remaining mixture, oil and lemon juice on the chili and mix it well. Now fill them in a jar and leave it for an hour. Mustard chilli is ready. Keep it in an air tight container and keep it in the fridge. You can keep this pickle for a month and eat it. If you are allergic to any spice, you can skip that spice. Amchur can also be used instead of lemon juice.
