Jammu and Kashmir is becoming "Flying Kashmir"! Know the real truth of the drug market, Jammu and Kashmir is becoming "Flying Kashmir"! Know the real truth of the drug market

New Delhi. One intoxication has not yet subsided, and another has started to rise. What better way can there be to deny the truth, to run away from reality, to create a world of lies. Something similar is happening these days in the heaven on earth, Jammu and Kashmir. When the intoxication of guns, bombs and stones started to subside, the intoxication of hashish started to grip them. Once again, the youth of Jammu and Kashmir are rapidly getting trapped in the trap laid by Pakistan.

According to the DGP of Jammu and Kashmir, a patient reaches the de-addiction centre in Shrinagar’s Raja Hari Singh Hospital every 12 minutes. So what is the real truth of the drug market in Jammu and Kashmir? We will tell you in this report. Jammu and Kashmir has been a conflict zone for years. It has been burning in the fire of terrorism for about 35 years. The flames of the fire have subsided now but have not been extinguished completely. In such a situation, people often look for another way to escape their problems. Something similar happened in Jammu and Kashmir. For years, the people of Kashmir had nothing but fear and struggle in their lives. No job, no entertainment, no peace. In such a situation, to forget their sorrows, the people there, especially the youth, started resorting to drugs.

Another reason for the spread of drugs was that it was easily available there. Apart from weapons, terrorists and bombs
Pakistan has also been supplying drugs to Kashmir. But gradually this problem of drugs has gripped Jammu and Kashmir in a tremendous way. On the lines of Punjab, now a large number of people have started taking drugs there too. Some time ago, an investigative report of Indian Express stated that the number of youths consuming drugs in Jammu and Kashmir has increased significantly in the last three years. According to the information, a ’75 percent’ increase has been observed in the number of youths coming to the valley’s largest de-addiction center.

The valley’s largest de-addiction centre runs in Shri Maharaja Hari Singh Hospital in Srinagar. Between March 2022 and March 2023, 41 thousand 110 drug-addicted youth reached here, while between March 2021 and March 2022 this figure was 23 thousand 403. According to the report, between 2022 and 2023, one patient every 12 minutes, five every hour and 114 patients reached the OPD every day. 90 percent of the drug addicts are between 17 and 30 years of age. Many families are getting ruined every day. Such cases come to the de-addiction centre every day which describes the terrible situation there too. In Baramulla, three sons in a family have become victims of drug addiction. The eldest son has already fallen prey to drug addiction. The remaining two sons are getting their treatment by going to the de-addiction centre.
have been.

An 18-year-old girl from a family in Srinagar became a victim of drug addiction. After somehow getting rid of the addiction, she is preparing for the 12th class examination again. A 23-year-old boy in Kupwara reached a de-addiction centre for treatment after falling prey to drug addiction because he fears losing his life. His three friends have died of drug overdose. In March 2023, 2 crore cash and 7 kg heroin were seized in Poonch. After this, Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbag Singh held a press conference in which he said that in recent times, the police and security agencies in Jammu Kashmir are facing a double challenge. Nowadays, weapons and drugs are being smuggled together from Pakistan and sent to India. Weapons are delivered to terrorists, while drugs are delivered to drug peddlers. The money earned from drugs goes back to Pakistan which is used to fund terrorists in Jammu Kashmir.

Before the removal of 370, there was a lot of supply of weapons in Kashmir. But after the removal of 370, the situation in Kashmir changed a lot. The police and the army are becoming more successful than before in eliminating terrorists. The army and police eliminated terrorists in large numbers. Many stone-pelters were also arrested. These actions started breaking the back of Pakistan. In such a situation, Pakistan increased drug smuggling to increase tension in Kashmir. According to DGP Dilbag Singh, this is leading to a union of terrorism and social crime. Now in such a situation, while the role of the government is important to find a solution to this problem, the role of the people of Kashmir is equally important.
