It is believed that on this day the moon showers its moonlight throughout the night, which is considered as nectar. It is said that dew drops are effective in getting rid of skin related diseases and many problems. Kheer is prepared under the open sky on the night of Sharad Purnima. Dew particles fall in this kheer, which is accepted by the people of Hindu religion as prasad. Ingredients for Kheer
Fresh sugarcane juice – 2 big cups
Ghee – 1 tbsp
Soaked Brown Rice – 1 cup
Cardamom powder – tsp
Cinnamon powder – a pinch
Milk – 2 cups
Mix dry fruits – cup
How to make Kheer
Step-1. Take a deep non-stick pan. Now heat desi ghee in it
Step-2. After this, fry all the dry fruits in it till it becomes light brown.
Step-3. Take out all the roasted dry fruits and keep them aside in a plate.
Step-4. Now add brown rice in the same ghee and fry for about a minute.
Step-5. After this add sugarcane juice and cook it till it comes to a boil.
Step-6. Now add cinnamon and cardamom powder and add milk to it.
Step-7. Let it cook for another 5 minutes.
Step-8. Serve the prepared kheer in a serving bowl.
Step-9. Garnish this kheer with roasted dry fruits.
