Ingredients for making Chana Dal-
1 big bowl gram dal
Onion
2 green chilies
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp turmeric
1 bay leaf
a pinch of asafoetida
1 tsp coriander powder
tomato
garam masala
green coriander
salt to taste
how to make chana dal
To make gram dal, boil the lentils on medium heat. Add salt and red chili to it. After boiling the gram dal, you have to remove it. Now prepare to temper it. You have to put a pinch of asafoetida in a pan. Now add cumin seeds. After this fry the chopped onions till golden brown. Now add finely chopped tomatoes to it. Add turmeric, garam masala, coriander to it. Cook it well. When the masala is cooked, turn the dal in it. Now let the spices mix in it. After this cook the dal for 5 minutes. After this, when the lentils are cooked, put chopped coriander in it and serve with desi ghee. Your dal is ready. You can serve it with roti or rice. If you want, you can make the gram dal a little thinner and drink it like a soup.
