One-sided thing has come out from China that it has vacated the hot spring area. Recently, there were 15 rounds of talks between the Corps Commander of India and China and Russia has also told China to keep reconciliation with India now. Perhaps that is why China has given a statement that it has withdrawn from the hot spring, but until we can see this fact clearly on the ground, we should wait. China’s claim should be tested through satellite or even physically.
It is ironic that where 60-60 thousand army is deployed on both the sides, then you were in 15th round of talks and will continue to do so. The question of what is the justification for talks at a time of deployment and tension can easily be raised. But more important than this question is to note that the area of Depsang to the left of the hot spring is more important for India, and the same line goes up to Karakoram. There are no ropes or wires, no poles on the line of control. In such a situation, both the countries have their own claims and the dispute has been going on for many years. In the year 1959, China made a line and gave it, which we do not believe. We say that the line which was there earlier should remain the same. In the ongoing talks, China has been calling the Indian demand unreasonable. Therefore, what China has just said about the retreat, it usually cannot be believed.
For us, the area above the hot spring is of greater strategic importance. When our special forces had put pressure on the hills, then China had retreated somewhat, but retreating from some places will not help. China should vacate the entire area.
Although the story of hot springs is old, this area has often been discussed. In 1959, a reconnaissance squad went missing from the Hot Springs post under construction. Then the Chinese army occupied Kongka Pass. A search was launched for the missing policemen, who had to face hostile Chinese troops. The shelling had started. In that action, nine CRPF personnel were martyred on the spot and one injured jawan was martyred later. That day was October 21, this day is now celebrated all over India as Police Martyrs Day or Police Commemoration Day. It is worth noting that after the same major incident, the army was deployed on the China border after removing the police-paramilitary forces. Now if China leaves the hot spring or retreats, it will in a way correct its mistake.
It has been happening that since 1959, Chinese soldiers have been entering our border little by little. Just as China has occupied two or four villages in the north of Nepal, which has also been attacked in the Nepalese Parliament, but the Communist Party has influence in Nepal, so the government there did nothing on it. It is the nature of the Chinese to keep munching on the areas of other countries slowly. They are still inside in some areas. We keep saying that you have entered unauthorizedly, go back.
Now by talking about giving up the hot spring, China may want to show that its emphasis is on a peaceful solution, but we should not be reassured. Preparation should be done. China can gossip on our side or Taiwan side. Discussions about China have been going on since Russia’s attack on Ukraine. China’s imperialist policies are not hidden from anyone. We should keep in mind, if China dares, then hardly any third country will come with us. It is worth noting that NATO countries were with Ukraine, but when Russia attacked, no country came out openly against it. We should be prepared by understanding the situation of the world. We have a great dependence on Russia for defense supplies, but it will hardly be able to come forward in times of our troubles. Some defense deals with Russia will get stuck in the middle, it looks like. 63 percent of the weapons or equipment of our army comes from Russia. Now what’s going to happen next? Therefore, it is necessary for India to be alert and prepared. When the United Nations was established, it was thought that this body would settle all disputes, strive for world peace and that there would be no wars in the world. We should open our eyes and see that all these institutions are in the state of mute spectators today and the war is on. In the case of Russia, we are seeing, the one who has the stick in his hand, is being pushed. When Russia’s stick needs strength, then it has sought help from China. But by fighting this war, Russia has gone back at least 40 years. In the coming days, it is going to be dependent on China, this has also increased India’s concern.
Ukraine’s capital will fall in a day or two, which means Ukraine will be defeated. The President of Ukraine is proving to be a clown. Now when he is saying that he will not go to NATO, will talk to Russia, then the question arises, why did he commit so much genocide?
However, we should focus on our self-reliance. In the United Nations, we have not taken any side, that is why many countries are angry. Well, there is no permanent friend or foe in international relations. On the other hand, Taiwan has declared a state of emergency in its own right, there is a deep consultation going on in our country as to what we should do. The big problem is that China has never shown honesty. He has occupied our 38 thousand square kilometer area only in Aksai Chin, he is also making claims from place to place. Hot spring is a minor issue, we should not be satisfied with this much. This is the time for the litmus test of India’s diplomacy, in which we have been able to succeed.
