Azamgarh News: In Azamgarh district, Congress party workers organized a “Constitution Bachao Rally” in the Sathiyanav campus under the leadership of former district president. Vishwavijay Singh, vice president of the State Congress Committee as the chief guest at the program, was also present. In this rally, the Congress party raised his voice against the continuous attacks on the basic ideals of the Constitution.
State Organization General Secretary of Congress Anil Yadav also addressed the rally. Speakers said that the Bharatiya Janata Party government is constantly hurting the spirit of the constitution. Democratic and constitutional institutions are being misused only for electoral benefits.
The Congress party took a pledge on the occasion that it is fully committed to protect the constitution of the country. Along with this, the speakers also kept the following demands-
1. Article 15 (5) of the Constitution should be implemented immediately so that OBC, Dalit and tribal communities can get reservation in private educational institutions.
2. There should not be any delay, excuse or administrative deferment in the process of caste census.
3. This process should be completely transparent and timed.
4. Every phase from preparing the questionnaire to the calculation, classification and data publication should be done in a fixed time limit and under the clear system.
In this rally, the speakers expressed special gratitude to Shri Rahul Gandhi, who made the demand for caste -census a national debate and forced the BJP government for this. Riyazul Hasan, Tej Bahadur Yadav, Chandrapal Yadav, Dinesh Yadav, Sheela Bharti, Ram Ganesh Prajapati, Belal Ahmed, Ansar Ahmed, Ajit Rai, Rahul Rai, Munnu Maurya, Hariom Upadhyay, Tushar Singh Paliwal, Amit Pandey were present in this rally.
