And Mainather police station chief Kiran Pal Singh and Bilari sub-district magistrate Vinay Kumar, along with block development officer. Strict, punitive action should be taken against the Returning Officer so that the credibility and impartiality of the Election Commission of India is not questioned.

Police-administration stopped voters

In the memorandum submitted to the Election Commission, it was said that on the day of voting on November 20, 2024, in Moradabad 29-Kunderki Legislative Assembly sub-constituency, a large number of Samajwadi Party supporters and voters, especially Muslim voters, were stopped by police personnel and administration people. As soon as the voting started in the booths where Samajwadi Party polling agents were deployed, the Samajwadi Party polling agents were thrown out of the polling booth.

Threatened SP people by going home at night

It is alleged that voters supporting Samajwadi Party, especially in Samajwadi booths, were intimidated by the police by going door-to-door in the night before voting. Warnings were given not to leave the house and on the voting day, November 20, 2024, barricades were built on the village roads and heavy police forces and border security forces were deployed. During this period no voter was allowed to leave the village. It is also alleged that the IDs of SP supporting voters were collected by police personnel and administration people. A written complaint about this was made by the Samajwadi Party candidate and the District President of the Samajwadi Party to the Returning Officer/District Election Officer/Observer but no action was taken.

In the memorandum submitted by SP, it was also said that after the withdrawal of nomination, the permitted campaign vehicles of Samajwadi Party were forcibly stopped by the police. Drivers were beaten up, campaign vehicles were stopped in police stations and despite written complaints, no action was taken. The Returning Officer has unlawfully intimidated Samajwadi Party supporters and workers by giving them notices under Goonda Act and breach of peace. Voter slips were not distributed by the BLO among SP supporters, especially among the majority Muslim voters, for which a written complaint was made, still the voter slips were not distributed.
