Lucknow News: On Wednesday, Samajwadi Party State President Shyam Lal Pal submitted a memorandum to the Chief Electoral Officer. In this memorandum, alleging irregularities in Kundarki by-election, action has been demanded against the Divisional Commissioner and several police station officers. It was told in the memorandum that on the day of voting in Kundarki by-election on November 20, 2024, the police personnel and administration people who stopped people from voting and Divisional Commissioner Anjaneya Kumar Singh, Kundarki police station incharge Pradeep Kumar Sehrawat, outpost incharge Rajnath Singh, sub-inspectors Anil Kumar Singh and Jaiveer Singh. And Mainather police station chief Kiran Pal Singh and Bilari sub-district magistrate Vinay Kumar, along with block development officer. Strict, punitive action should be taken against the Returning Officer so that the credibility and impartiality of the Election Commission of India is not questioned.
Police-administration stopped voters
In the memorandum submitted to the Election Commission, it was said that on the day of voting on November 20, 2024, in Moradabad 29-Kunderki Legislative Assembly sub-constituency, a large number of Samajwadi Party supporters and voters, especially Muslim voters, were stopped by police personnel and administration people. Was prevented from voting. Even Samajwadi Party polling agents were not allowed at most of the booths. As soon as the voting started in the booths where Samajwadi Party polling agents were deployed, the Samajwadi Party polling agents were thrown out of the polling booth.
Threatened SP people by going home at night
It is alleged that voters supporting Samajwadi Party, especially in Samajwadi booths, were intimidated by the police by going door-to-door in the night before voting. Warnings were given not to leave the house and on the voting day, November 20, 2024, barricades were built on the village roads and heavy police forces and border security forces were deployed. During this period no voter was allowed to leave the village. It is also alleged that the IDs of SP supporting voters were collected by police personnel and administration people. A written complaint about this was made by the Samajwadi Party candidate and the District President of the Samajwadi Party to the Returning Officer/District Election Officer/Observer but no action was taken.
Police forcibly stopped the vehicle
In the memorandum submitted by SP, it was also said that after the withdrawal of nomination, the permitted campaign vehicles of Samajwadi Party were forcibly stopped by the police. Drivers were beaten up, campaign vehicles were stopped in police stations and despite written complaints, no action was taken. The Returning Officer has unlawfully intimidated Samajwadi Party supporters and workers by giving them notices under Goonda Act and breach of peace. The Act under which the Returning Officer issued the notice has already expired before the Lok Sabha/Rajya Sabha. Voter slips were not distributed by the BLO among SP supporters, especially among the majority Muslim voters, for which a written complaint was made, still the voter slips were not distributed. On the day of voting, voting was conducted using pink colored slips. This pink color voter slip was printed by a BJP candidate against whom a written complaint was made, but no action was taken on it. People were not even allowed to vote through plain slips.
Police was asking the name of the party, tearing the slip
Making another allegation on behalf of SP, it was said that on the day of voting, police personnel near the polling station used to ask voters about which party to vote for. When the voter took the name of SP, the police used to tear the slip and send him away. On the day of voting, genuine voters were prevented from casting their votes and outsiders were called in to cast their votes.
No action despite complaints
It is alleged that on behalf of Samajwadi Party, written complaint was made to the Chief Electoral Officer, Uttar Pradesh on 26.10.2024, 3.11.2024, 7.11.2024, 10.11.2024. In this, a written complaint was made against Divisional Commissioner Anjaneya Kumar Singh, Kundarki police station incharge Pradeep Kumar Sehrawat, outpost incharge Rajnath Singh, sub-inspectors Anil Kumar and Jaiveer Singh, Mainather police station incharge Kiranpal Singh, Bilari sub-district magistrate Vinay Kumar and block development officer for influencing the elections. A complaint was lodged along with the photo of police station incharge Kiranpal Singh promoting BJP in police dress, yet no action was taken.
