Opposition uproar before the discussion on 'Operation Sindoor' begins, the speaker furious; Lok Sabha postponed till 2 pm

The proceedings have been adjourned till 2 pm on Monday before the discussion on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha. Actually, the action began with the slogans of opposition MPs. The uproar continued even when the Lok Sabha proceedings started again at 12 o’clock and 1 o’clock. Speaker Om Birla also enraged at this.

He said, “First you demand a discussion on Operation Sindoor, then in the House, you come to the Well of the House. If you want to participate in the discussion, please sit on your seats. Do you want to discuss Operation Sindoor or not? … Should I postpone the House?”

Earlier, it was revealed that Defense Minister Rajnath Singh would address the Lok Sabha at around 12 noon on Monday. Today, the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor are expected to have a fierce debate between the ruling alliance and the top leaders of the opposition.

The Lok Sabha work list for Monday stated, “Special discussion on India’s strong, successful and decisive ‘Operation Sindoor’ in response to a terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

26 civilians were killed in a terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, after which India targeted the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) by making accurate attacks under Operation Sindoor.

Ever since the monsoon session started on July 21, there has been a continuous uproar in Parliament demanding a debate on issues of public importance by the opposition, including the Pahalgam terror attack and the SIR process being carried out by the Election Commission in Bihar before the upcoming assembly elections.

The opposition has also demanded that Prime Minister Modi reply to the claims made by US President Donald Trump to start a “ceasefire” between India and Pakistan after Operation Sindoor.

The first week of the monsoon session of Parliament was full of major disruption, including Jagdeep Dhankhar’s sudden resignation as Vice President.

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that there will be a debate on Operation Sindoor on July 28 and 16 hours in Rajya Sabha on July 29.

Rijiju told reporters, “All issues cannot be discussed simultaneously. Opposition has raised many issues, such as special intensive revision (SIR) exercises and others in Bihar. We have told them that the first operation vermilion will be discussed. After that we will decide which issues have to be discussed. On the Operation Sindoor, on Monday (28 July), there will be 16 hours in the Lok Sabha on Monday (28 July).”

Apart from this, the House leaders of the India alliance parties will hold a meeting at 10 am on Monday, in which the strategy of the second week of the monsoon session will be discussed. Operation vermilion will be discussed in Lok Sabha on Monday and Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.
