While hearing this case, the Supreme Court has also made a sharp comment on the Chief Minister. The Supreme Court said that this is not a feudal era where whatever Rajaji says will happen. Let us tell you that IFS officer Rahul has been accused of illegally cutting trees in Jim Corbett National Park. Despite this, he has been made the director of Rajaji National Park. However, later the government has removed him.
A bench of Justice BR Gavai, Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra and Justice KV Vishwanathan heard the case of illegal construction and felling of trees in Jim Corbett Park, Uttarakhand on Wednesday in the Supreme Court. During this, the bench expressed strong objection to the actions of Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami and also reprimanded him. The bench said that you have thrown the public trust principle in the dustbin. Along with this, the court said that this is not a feudal era, whatever Rajaji says will happen. Not only this, the Supreme Court has also said that it is not that if he is the Chief Minister, he can do anything, remove anyone whenever he wants, acquit or stop departmental proceedings. Regarding this matter, the Supreme Court said that we need an affidavit from the Chief Minister itself.
Transfer is not appropriate
The bench said that first removing IFS officer Rahul, who was accused of illegal tree felling in Corbett Tiger Reserve, and then making him the director of Rajaji National Park is not fair. The court termed this step of the government as arbitrary and said that the person who should have been suspended was transferred. In this very case, the Supreme Court had earlier said that such a step clearly shows that the then Forest Minister and DFO had considered themselves the law.
These were the allegations, CBI investigation is going on
