According to the Meteorological Department, there is no hope of relief from cold for a few days. There is a possibility of fog at most places. At the same time, there is snowfall and rain in some places of high hilly areas including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand. Due to which the mercury fell by four to seven degrees Celsius.

Due to snowfall in the mountains, the chill has increased in the plains. Punjab and Haryana are also in the grip of severe cold. There was dense fog in both the states on Tuesday morning. Due to which visibility reached zero. Dense fog and cold have also reduced the speed of flights and trains. Many flights have been canceled due to dense fog. And trains are also running late by hours. Due to which passengers are facing inconvenience.

Weather will remain clear in Jammu and Kashmir

Intermittent snowfall is occurring in many areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Also there is dense fog. However, amid the cold, the number of tourists has also increased here. Tourists are reaching here to enjoy the snowfall. The weather will be clear in Jammu-Kashmir and Uttarakhand on Tuesday. But there is no hope of getting relief from the cold. There is dense fog in some areas of Himachal Pradesh.

Cold wave and fog warning in Uttar Pradesh

The Meteorological Department has issued a cold wave alert of dense fog in many districts including Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. There may be rain and hailstorm in some districts of western Uttar Pradesh. During the last 24 hours, 11 people died untimely due to cold in different districts of Uttar Pradesh. Of these, three people died in Mahoba, three in Kanpur city, two in Kanpur Dehat, one each in Chitrakoot-Banda and one in Bareilly due to cold.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in the areas around Bahraich, Shravasti, Lakhimpur Kheri, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Meerut, Amroha, Moradabad, Bijnor, Bareilly, Rampur and Pilibhit in UP from January 7 to 8.

Along with this, Banda, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Chitrakoot, Pratapgarh, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Varanasi, Chandauli, Jaunpur, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Kannauj, Unnao, Kanpur, Rae Bareli, Mathura, Hathras, Aligarh, Kasganj, Agra, Firozabad, Etah. , Etawah, Mainpuri, Auraiya, Hamirpur, Jalaun, There is a possibility of dense fog in Mahoba, Jhansi and Lalitpur. In the capital Lucknow too, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of dense fog along with the cold day.

Shivering increased due to westerly winds in Bihar

The effect of cold is not going to reduce in the state of Bihar either. Here the cold wave along with strong westerly winds have increased the shivering. There will be dense fog in many districts including Bihar’s capital Patna and Gaya. The second phase of cold is starting in Madhya Pradesh. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of increase in cold and fog in the north-western part of Madhya Pradesh.
