On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, some local businessmen will give customers discounts ranging from 10 to 100 percent on their bills. Some auto drivers will give free rides to passengers. BJP leader Purnesh Modi gave this information on Sunday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday is on Tuesday, September 17. To make it special, many local businessmen will give discounts ranging from 10 percent to 100 percent on their services. Some auto drivers will give free rides to passengers. BJP leader Purnesh Modi gave this information on Sunday. He said that many people in his constituency will voluntarily give discounts ranging from 10 percent to 100 percent on Prime Minister Modi’s birthday. He said that this tradition takes place every year in honor of the PM. Purnesh Modi is an MLA from Surat West seat.
The BJP MLA said, “In my constituency, every year we do some service work on PM Modi’s birthday… 2,500 businessmen from different businesses offer discounts ranging from 10 to 100 per cent. 110 auto-rickshaws offer 100 per cent discounts on that day. We appeal for this every year, but we do not force anyone to any kind of offer. They have joined us and PM Modi on their own will. Every shop has its own plan – what discount to give, how much discount to give – it is their decision. It is voluntary.”
Businessmen from various sectors, including hotels, restaurants, clinics, vegetable markets and bakeries, will be part of the initiative. The auto union in Surat is also joining the celebrations. “We will celebrate it as Seva Diwas, where individual auto drivers are giving (free rides). Why not do it together? So we will carry passengers for free, and this will start from Monday, September 16, a day before Narendra Modi’s birthday,” said union president Raju Bhandari.
In Surat too, people are excited about the discounts being offered during the festive season. A shopkeeper said, ‘Festivals are going on, so we are shopping. I came to know that 17th September is Prime Minister Modi’s birthday and we are getting good discounts here. So we bought some goods.’ Let us tell you that on his birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will go to Odisha to launch ‘Subhadra Yojana’. Under this scheme, the first installment of Rs 5,000 will be issued to 1 crore 30 lakh women.
