A family from Gujarat is being discussed everywhere. The reason is to donate blood. 27 members of the family together have donated about 630 liters of blood in the last 40 years. If added to units, this figure reaches 1400 units. Family member Dr. Maulin Patel said that among these, there are 4 people who have donated blood more than 100 times. Of these, 44-year-old Dr. Patel is the youngest Shatveer blood donor of Gujarat, i.e. a person who has donated blood 100 times.
4 members have donated more than a hundred times
October 1 is celebrated as Voluntary Blood Donation Day in the country. There are three generations in the Patel family. Of these, 16 people have donated blood more than fifty times. Patel’s parents, who are over seventy years of age, have donated blood 98 times each. That means, after donating blood two more times, the number of healthy blood donors in their house will increase from four to six.
Donated blood by going to America due to restrictions
Let us tell you that his parents went to America and donated blood, because in India people above 65 years of age cannot donate blood. Whereas there is no such rule in America. Dr Moulin said that the parents have decided that they will return to India only after they donate blood for the 100th time.
This is how it started, the series continues till now
Dr. Moulin told that it started in the year 1985. At that time my uncle Ramesh Patel had attended a program. There Sathya Sai Baba said that blood is liquid love, let it flow into others. Inspired by this message, my uncle organized a massive blood donation camp for the first time in the same year. So that the Red Cross can help in providing blood to Thalassemia patients. Impressed by his work, other members of the family started donating blood and now this trend is continuing.
