Murshidabad violence against waqf law: Violent protests took place against the Waqf Act on Friday (April 11) in Murshidabad, West Bengal, in which protesters set fire to police vans and other trains including public buses. Some protesters also staged a sit -in on the railway tracks in Malda, causing road and train traffic to deteriorate. Many trains were also diverted. 10 policemen were also injured due to stone pelting at the railway station. The police also lathi -charged to bring the crowd under control and released tear gas shells. Along with this, BSP personnel were also deployed in Shamsherganj. However, now the police say that the situation in the area is under control.

Bengal police gave updates

The Bengal Police has shared a post on X. In this, he has informed about the control of the situation. Police said, ‘The situation in Sati and Samseerganj areas of Jangipur is now under control. The uncontrollable crowd has been controlled by the effective action of the police. And traffic on the national highway has also become normal.

The police further said that strict action will be taken against those who commit violence. And legal action will also be taken against those who try to spread wrong information. We will appeal to the public not to pay attention to rumors and maintain peace.

Governor gave strict instructions to police

Governor Dr. CV Anand Bose has given a statement about the violence in Murshidabad. He said that he already had a feeling that some disturbances could happen, so he had already informed the CMO. He further said that he is constantly monitoring the situation and no violence will be tolerated in the name of performance, so the police have also been instructed to control the situation.
