RCB expressed grief over the incident. He said that as soon as he came to know about the accident through the media, he immediately changed his program. The team expressed condolences to those killed and appealed to all the fans to be safe.

Crowd caused a stir due to overcrowding

Regarding the Bengaluru accident, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the Cricket Association is responsible for this stampede. He said that the gates of the stadium were very small and when the crowd came, people broke the gate and started entering inside, causing a stampede. The Chief Minister said that this was an unexpected accident. The stadium had a capacity of 35,000 people, but around 3-4 lakh people had gathered outside.

Comparison of Mahakumbh

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has announced to give assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the family of those killed and to get treatment for the injured free. While answering the BJP’s questions, he said that there should not be politics on such accidents and also reminded of the stampede in Mahakumbh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also mourned the incident. He wrote on social media that this incident in Bengaluru is very sad. My condolences are with families who have lost their loved ones. I wish the injured to recover soon.
