Bhagwant Mann government of Punjab is going to give a big gift to the residents of Punjab and Punjabi NRIs. Punjab government is now going to open a facility center at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. The Bhagwant Mann government of the state has signed an agreement with GMR company which operates Delhi Airport. This special counter at Delhi Airport will provide its services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The purpose of this facility center is to provide all possible help to Punjabi NRIs and other passengers at the airport. This center will start functioning soon. This facility center will be built at Airport Terminal-3.
2 Innova cars will be present
This centre will have 2 Innova cars which will be available to help passengers in their movement in and around Punjab Bhawan. Any passenger or their relatives can seek help from this centre for connecting flights, taxi services, lost luggage facilities and any other assistance required at the airport.
emergency accommodation
In case of emergency, Punjab government will provide some rooms in Punjab Bhawan or Delhi for the travellers or their relatives on the basis of availability. The number of this centre is 011-61232182. Travellers can call on this number and avail the services whenever they want. Travelling abroad is a common trend among the people of Punjab. Every year a large number of people from Punjab settle down in Canada, Australia, America or other European countries. Keeping this in view, the Punjab government is going to open a special centre for Punjabis at Delhi airport.
Punjab government has started Volvo bus service for Delhi airport
Earlier, the Punjab government had run Volvo buses directly to the airport to provide convenience to NRIs, which were stopped in 2018. After this, the only Indo-Canadian buses of Sukhbir Badal family going to Delhi airport were going to Delhi on tourist permit. But on 15 June 2022, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann extended it to Indira Gandhi International Airport Delhi. The bus service was started by announcing to run a total of 55 Volvo buses from Punjab.
