A truck driver has been arrested for crushing the lioness in Amreli district of Gujarat. The incident took place near Devalia village on the Amreli-Samprakundla highway in the early hours of April 24. The accused in the case Rajesh Padaria has been arrested, who was driving at a high speed and crushed the lioness in the early hours of Tuesday.

Assistant Forest Conservator (ACF) Virasingh Chavda said that after the incident, three different teams were formed, who identified and arrested the accused based on CCTV footage and intelligence. He said that the truck was detected after examining the footage of petrol pumps and CCTV cameras around the spot.

A case has been registered against Driver Rajesh Padaria under Wildlife Protection Act 1972 and Wildlife (Protection) Amendment Act 2022. He has been sent to jail after the bail application was dismissed in the allegations against him.

5 -year -old child dies in lioness attack

A few months ago, there was news of a lioness attack from Amreli district. The five -year -old son of a laborer died in a lioness attack when the child was playing outside his hut in the Bagan area of ​​Navi Jikadri village in Jafarabad taluka. During this time, the lioness attacked him suddenly and took him away. Local people and employees of the forest department jointly carried out an intensive search operation in the entire area.
