Many parts of Gujarat received unseasonal rains on Sunday. IMD has estimated more rains in many parts of the state and a drop of 3-5 degrees Celsius in the next five days. Officials said that the rain gave some relief from the scorching heat, but it damaged the standing crops and crops kept in the open, especially the farmers suffered damage due to the soaking crops in Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Aravalli and Gandhinagar districts.

Farmers and traders have suffered losses due to bin weather rains in Aravalli district. Crops kept in the open got wet. The traders have lost millions of rupees due to drenching wheat, maize, soybean crops. Despite the advance forecast of the Meteorological Department, there has been damage due to lack of action. When the rains were rained, the farmers tried to save the crop by covering it with tarpaulin, but this effort failed.

Possibility of rain for five days

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that different areas of Ahmedabad, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar and Mehsana districts were recorded with electricity and thunderstorms. IMD said in its latest bulletin that thunderstorms are expected to receive light to moderate rains at many places in Gujarat during the next five days, while heavy rains are likely to receive heavy rains at some places till 6 May and heavy to very heavy rains on 7-8 May.

Temperature will fall

IMD said, “The maximum temperature in the area during the next 5 days is likely to fall by 3-5 degrees Celsius.” The IMD said that due to rain, the maximum temperature in Ahmedabad in the next seven days would fall from 39 degrees Celsius to 35-36 ° C, while the minimum temperature will be around 25 ° C. The city of Vadodara, which was meditating at a temperature above 40 degrees, will reduce the temperature to 35-36 degrees.

Possibility of heavy rains on May 7

The Meteorological Department said that heavy rains are expected on May 7 in Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Aravali, Narmada and Surat districts, while most districts are expected to have thunderstorms from Mondays. According to IMD, high waves will arise in the northwest Arabian Sea adjacent to the coasts of Gujarat and the wind speed will be 50-55 km per hour. (Input-PTI)
