After the death of Raghunath Pillai, his wife and daughter became unconscious.
In Vadodara, Gujarat, a man had such love for his pet dog that it became fatal for him. A heart-wrenching incident took place in Vadodara Lakshmipur area on Wednesday. To save his dog from drowning, the owner jumped into the canal and died. However, no trace of the dog that had fallen into the water could be found.
Raghunath had gone out for a walk with 2 pet dogs.
51-year-old Raghunath Pillai, who lives in Lakshmipur area of Vadodara and leads a retired life, had gone out for a walk with his two pet dogs in the morning. Pillai was accompanied by his two dogs – a German Shepherd and a Husky. While roaming around, they took him to the banks of Narmada Canal. Then while playing, one of his dogs, a German Shepherd, suddenly fell into the water. Raghunath Pillai also jumped into the canal to save him. Pillai did not know that the water in the canal would be very deep and he drowned.
Gave up my life for the dog
People walking nearby had informed the fire department, after which the fire department team reached the spot and took out the body of the deceased. Wife and daughter became unconscious after Raghunath’s death. After the incident, neighbors say that Raghunath Pillai, who loved the dog very much, sacrificed his life for it.
Search continues for German Shepherd
Inspector MD Choudhary of Laxmipur police station said, “The German Shepherd had slipped into the canal. Pillai immediately jumped into the canal to save his dog. The current in the canal was very strong, so he could not swim properly and drowned.” The inspector said the German Shepherd has not been traced yet. His search is on. It is believed that the dog may have managed to save itself. However he has not been seen in the area. In this matter, the police have registered a complaint and started investigation.
