Second seed Akane Yamaguchi of Japan defeated fourth seed Ann Seung of South Korea 21-15 21-15 on Sunday to win the women’s singles title at the All England Badminton Championships.
Yamaguchi took 44 minutes to settle this one-sided match and won the title for the first time. Yamaguchi’s success marks Japan’s second consecutive year at the tournament. Last year, Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara won the title.
