Buoyed by the party’s thumping victory in Punjab, Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Haryana in-charge Sushil Gupta said that the party’s next target would be Haryana. During his visit to Karnal on Sunday, Gupta said, “After Delhi and Punjab, now the people of Haryana have decided to form the next government in Haryana as the people of Haryana are waiting for elections to eliminate the traditional corrupt parties.” ”
Asked about whether some politicians from Haryana may join the party in the next few days, he said, “Many leaders want to join AAP in Haryana, but people with clean image will be welcomed in the party”. About his meeting with senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Birender Singh, he said that he has been invited on his birthday on March 25. Only Birender Singh can tell about his future plans. But we will not hesitate to give him your cap because his political image is very clean and he is also associated with farmers.
He also made it clear that AAP would not induct any leader in Haryana on the condition of making him or his party’s chief ministerial face. Karnal Municipal Corporation councilor Balwinder Singh joined AAP on Sunday. Gupta welcomed him to the party. “Balwinder has a very clean image and he is known for his honesty and exposing corruption in Karnal MC,” he said. On his decision, Balwinder said that he was impressed by Arvind Kejriwal’s vision and work and he would work hard to strengthen the party in Karnal.
Demonstration at CM residence
Alleging corruption in government departments, former Haryana convener of AAP Naveen Jaihind protested at the Karnal residence of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. He burnt the effigy of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Karnal MP Sanjay Bhatia alleging false claims of zero tolerance towards corruption.
However, on the other hand, AAP convener Sushil Gupta clarified that the protest led by Jaihind was not an official program of the party. “Everyone has the right to protest in a democracy but AAP did not organize the protest as Jaihind does not hold any position in the AAP,” he said.
