Today is the second day of the Pink Ball Test between India and Sri Lanka being played in Bangalore. Playing first, India had scored 252 runs losing all wickets. In reply, Sri Lanka lost 6 wickets for 86 runs at the end of the day’s play. Indian pacers Jasprit Bumrah took 3 and Mohammed Shami took 2 wickets. Earlier, Shreyas Iyer had played a brilliant innings of 92 runs in the batting.
The bowlers dominated on the first day of the Pink Ball Test and a total of 16 wickets had fallen. The visiting team lost 6 wickets and India had lost all 10 wickets in two sessions. Sri Lanka are still 166 runs behind India’s score. Niroshan Dickwella 13 and Lasith Embuldeniya were unbeaten at stumps on the first day. Earlier, the Indian team was all out for 252 runs.
Shreyas Iyer had scored 92 runs but he missed his century. He had crossed India’s score to 250 on his own. In his innings of 92 runs off 98 balls, Iyer hit 10 fours and 4 sixes. Apart from him, Rishabh Pant had scored 39 runs and no batsman was able to do much. Praveen Jayavikrama and Lasith Embuldeniya took 3 wickets each for Sri Lanka. Dhananjay de Silva got two and Suranga Lakmal got one success.
Virat Kohli was once again out for just 23 runs in the first innings, extending the wait for his 71st century. Opener Mayank Agarwal’s luck did not favor him and he was unnecessarily run out. The bad form has continued ever since captain Rohit Sharma took over.
