According to the information, the attackers gunned down Sandeep, after which the player was being taken to the hospital in an injured condition, but he died on the way.
It is being told that when the Kabaddi match was being played in Jalandhar on Monday evening, at that time suddenly indiscriminate firing started. During the firing, Kabaddi player Sandeep Nangal, who was playing the match, received several bullets, after which a stampede broke out on the spot.
After the incident, the police immediately reached the spot and started investigation. Heavy police force has also been deployed to ensure that tension does not spread in the area.
Jalandhar (Rural) Deputy Superintendent of Police (Nakodar) Lakhwinder Singh confirmed the report. Police suspect that eight to ten bullets were fired at the kabaddi player. He said that further investigation is being done.
