A relief news has come out for Mumbai Indians (MI) before the match against Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League 2022 (IPL 2022). Stunning batsman Suryakumar Yadav has recovered from injury and will be available for Saturday’s match. Team director Zaheer Khan has given this information. Did not play in the match against Delhi Capitals (DC). The team had to face defeat in this match.
Suryakumar Yadav suffered a hairline fracture while fielding in the third and final T20 International against West Indies in Kolkata in February. He was in rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The Mumbai batsman joined the team a few days back and participated in the training session.
Zaheer said during the pre-match press conference, “He (Suryakumar Yadav) is available for selection. I said earlier that he is practicing. So that is something we are all eagerly waiting for and he is available for the next match.” Dew has played a key role in this season. The bowlers have found it difficult to catch the ball, especially in the second innings.
Regarding this, Zaheer said, “Dew is not under our control. It becomes difficult for the spinners. Even fast bowlers are not able to bowl yorkers at times. These are the challenges of the game, we have to deal with it.” Mumbai Indians have started slay as usual and Zaheer says he is not bothered by it. “Very good conversations have taken place,” he said. Usually we have a slow start. I am happy with the way we have planned. We learned a lot from the last match. You want to be a good batsman and bowler in some phases. Efforts are made to convey this to every player.”
Wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan played a brilliant innings in the match against Delhi. However, during this he got injured on the ball of Shardul Thakur. Because of this, he stayed away from the field for some time during fielding. Later he returned and did the keeping. Zaheer said about this that the young wicketkeeper is fine and there is nothing to worry about.
