The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on 29 March 2022 issued a media rights tender for the media rights of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the 2023-2027 season. BCCI is expected to earn Rs 50,000 crore through media rights. Here, the BCCI has started preparing to earn Rs 50,000 crore through media rights, while the three-member team of Cricket Australia (CA) has reached Mumbai to study the market situation. CA also has to renew its media rights next year.
According to Cricbuzz news, the team headed by Nikki Linney is meeting its current media partners in India, including Sony, various broadcasters and OTT platforms. Cricbuzz also confirmed that the CA team is in discussions with representatives of Viacom Network (which will soon be launching a sports channel), Star, Amazon Prime as well as Fancode (Dream 11) .
Earlier, a statement was issued on behalf of BCCI Sachin Jay Shah on the IPL website. In the statement, Jay Shah has said that for the first time in IPL history, BCCI will arrange e-auction for the new bidders and it will start from June 12. BCCI Amazon is expecting Prime, Meta and YouTube to make big bids for the ‘digital space’.
