Ranji Trophy 2022 is being organized in two phases. The first phase is over with three rounds and seven teams have advanced to the last eight. On the other hand, if we talk about the top-5 scorers and top-5 bowlers so far, then Mumbai seems to be dominated. Also, there are four players in the top-5 batsmen whose teams have not reached the quarter-finals.
In the bowlers’ list, there are three players in the top-5 whose team has been knocked out of the third round or is yet to make it to the last-8. The top scorer after the end of the first leg has been Bihar’s Sakibul Ghani, who has scored 601 runs in five innings of three matches. 341 runs is his highest score. Mumbai’s Shams Mulani is at the top of the bowling, who has taken a total of 29 wickets in 6 innings of three matches.

Group F to Punjab, Group E to Uttarakhand, Group C to Karnataka, Group H to Jharkhand, Group G to Uttar Pradesh, Group D to Mumbai and Group B to Bengal have made it to the knockout rounds. Apart from this, the eighth team of the last-8 will be decided between the top teams of Group A and Plate Group. If the phase now starts after IPL 2022 whose schedule is yet to come.
Madhya Pradesh and Kerala have 14 points each in Group A. Both the teams have won 2-2 matches in 3. Apart from this, Nagaland is on top of the plate group with 19 points after winning all the three matches. Also strong teams like former champions Saurashtra and UP as well as Delhi have been eliminated from the next round.
